Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that Apple could unveil the foldable model alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models but delay preorders until the fourth quarter. That would resemble Apple’s approach with the original iPhone X, which was announced alongside other iPhones but reached customers later.
Other reports have suggested that Apple is targeting September production and launch, although the exact timing remains uncertain.
That distinction matters because foldable phones are substantially more complicated to manufacture than conventional smartphones. Apple has reportedly faced difficulties with the hinge during testing, although later reports indicated that many of those problems had been addressed.
For now, September 2026 is the leading launch window, not a confirmed Apple release date.
