Introduction

Apple Inc. once again strikes us with its continuous technical improvements added to iPhone products. When it comes to attraction, at first sight, iPhone really ups the game.  It’s not only the display nor the beautiful colors that catch the eyes. This time, the iPhone 6 comes with a larger shape, a splendid design, a great camera and a masterful performance. But it keeps us wondering about the changing trends of the phone industry, will the iPhone 6 keep up the scale with Android phones and other competitors?

The physical specs

The iPhone 6 is actually a thin and light device. You can feel it just by looking at the photo. It’s all one piece of aluminium (6.9mm slim) and weighs 129g. Make sure not to hold it out of brisk, it may fall.  To be more precise, the measures of the phone are 128.3mm x 67.1mm x 6.9mm.

The squared off edges are long gone, the new iPhone greet us with a frame rounded off from the corners just like the HTC One (M8). The new body shape gives a silk touch to the user, it becomes handier and the grip is more comfortable.  The smooth surface of the metal unibody makes it slippery to hold; therefore it’s kind of hard to manipulate the phone especially if you’re not familiar with large devices. That’s why I would recommend using a case to avoid any accidents.

The big old chin for the Home button looks great. But what makes it greater is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button, with a wider scanning area. It actually works perfectly. Addition to that, the power button has been moved to the right side of the device and the top is left bare. Oh hey Apple, stop looking at your classmates’ sheets!

Aside from the 2012 huge throwback, the iPhone’s physical advantages are evidently numerous. Having a large device with a bigger screen means that now we can have bigger icons and sizable texts. Also, we can enjoy our large video watching sessions. We can even read e-books as if we were using the Kindle Paperwork reader. Without forgetting to mention that iOS looks glorious on the big screen. So did Apple finally found the perfect size? Everything becomes large with the iPhone 6, which eases our eyes’ use and gets us more relaxed. It provides us with a display of 4.7” inches and a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. Just like the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, the new generation of iPhone still has a high pixel density of 326ppi. We’re not complaining though, are we?

Moreover, we can benefit from a great brightness and distinguished viewing angles on the iPhone 6.

Performance

However, the high-performance can’t go unnoticed. The iPhone 6 is among the fastest phones in the market. The user interfaces are fast and the user experience is totally better. Thanks to its new specs: Dual-core 1.4 GHz, Apple A8 chipset, M8 motion co-processor, Power VR GX6450 GPU, and 1GB of RAM.

UI speed: The A8 chipset is well behind some of the QUALCOMM chips but it still offers processing speeds to beat out other its competitors. It is definitely more power efficient.

When it comes to the built-in storage, it actually comes in three different options. It depends on the client’s preferences and the budget of course. So if you’re planning to buy an iPhone, you can choose between the 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB iPhone.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6 indeed has a super thin battery, yet it guarantees a better battery life than the iPhone 5s; 1,810mAh battery.

Camera

Four years in a row, we get to have an iPhone with the same camera capacities. The 8-Megapixel camera is still the same, with some slight changes nonetheless.  But that doesn’t stop us from saying that the camera is actually the highlight of the iPhone 6.

Besides a dual-LED (dual tone) flash on the back, the camera stands out gracefully. Although beware the lens doesn’t get scratched while putting the phone on a sharp surface. Another reason why a phone case is compulsory for the safety of the device.

The new camera has high frame rate videos at 1080p@30fps and @60fps and a 720p video recording with even 240 frames per second. Fast autofocus, wide open aperture glass, low light performance. Clean and avoid blurriness, clean the noise. Crispy clean shots, no 4K videos Clean image processing. Fair screen resolution

The front camera is merely 1.2 Megapixel. It captures low-quality images which results quite bad and blurry pictures. The camera of the iPhone is still behind the technology evolution of the market.

Phone Design

As I first mentioned, the curved design of the device is absolutely attractive. It’s sophisticated and it looks professional and elegant. The edges remind us of the very first generation of the iPhone, which was chubby and small nonetheless. But this thin device reflects beauty and practicality. And let’s not forget how fragile it looks, so better choose a case that won’t hide the solid design away.

Conclusion

One more time, Apple keeps its devices high priced in the market. I personally would go for an Android phone with better features and a moderate price but that’s just a personal point of view. Although I’m sure what we mentioned above will help you make a wise choice while picking a new phone.

So now that we have an awesome camera, a pleasing screen and an impressive look all in a peerless thin slim package, what’s coming next for Apple? The remarkable unchanged specs of the iPhone can be regarded as a signature. It still has no microSD card slot, no FM Radio, and no removable battery. But what about the lack of 4K videos and the video sound that is still mono? There’s not even an enhanced water resistance nor dust resistance.

Apple unequivocally needs to catch up with the ecosystem and upgrade more its devices. The future is no more limited in the content and the user’s experience, I suppose. So will we be getting a new generation with newly developed features? Let’s hope the wait is worth it this time.
